Any recommendations to getting my IAT down? Standing temp runs 153 and gets up to 180 when I get on it. oil temp is ~203. I guess I cud do some thermo changes, but then have to change it back for winter. Am I worrying for no reason? I gotta believe that if I can shave 30*, I gain plenty of HP's back. R/

What mods does your truck have now?

radix, pro cold air intake, dynatech LTs, Magnaflow cat back. R/

153 sounds high to me. What is the ambient air temp when you get that reading? I remember seeing temps like that (150-160 degrees IAT) when driving through Vegas when it was 112 degrees outside. I normally see 120-130 in 80-90 degree weather. Of course that goes up when I start getting on the go pedal :D

If I've been driving for a while, my IATs are usually about 30-35* above outside temps. If I've been hard on it, its more like 40* above. On 100* days, my cruising IATs are in the 130s. A 8 second WOT blast will put them in the 180s.

dhpro - if your IATs are consistently running 60* above outside temps with mild driving, you've got a problem. If you see those temps after 10 minutes of idleing, I wouldn't doubt it.

Check your fresh air source and see if you are taking in lots of engine compartment air. When I had an open filter to the engine bay, my IATs would often go in the 150s BEFORE I had the Radix. Obviously, make sure your pump is running. Run a mix of distilled water and a bottle of Water Wetter, skip the antifreeze for now.

This morning on the drive to work, I decided to plug in my EFILive. I immediately noticed my IATs were reading 167*. This was after 30 minutes of driving on slow roads without heavy throttle in mid 80*weather. I have my coolant pump on a toggle switch and had accidently left it off (for the past 3 weeks :emb: ), so I was basically running it non-intercooled. I flipped the switch and logged the data. It dropped 25* within 1 minute and within 2 minutes, it was 35* lower.
