Full. My oil pressure is fine, and it comes and goes. Usually if its cold it doesnt come on, but when I crank it again it will, and it always drinks 1 full quart to get to the full line. Hell at this rate, maybe I can switch to good oil, then just swap filters every now and then and never change the oil, just keep adding.

after my first cam swap mine was about 1qt every 1500-2000miles.... I changed the pcv valve and it fixed the problem... then I did my second cam swap and it started doing it again???? I havent tried the pcv valve again.. but what are the odds of it being the same???

My dad has a 1995 Dodge 1500 4X4 with 289K on it. He has done this since mile 1. As a matter of fact he has done that to just about every truck he has owned. They all have made it past 150K. Not that I'd do that, but funny nevertheless.

41K on the LQ9 and it doesnt use a drop, and I have about 3k miles on the Comp 224 so far. Although I did find some pretty thick build up on my drain plug magnet when I changed the oil after 4k miles this past weekend.

I wasnt bitching, just currious. Also for everyone whose engine doesn't use any oil, are you actually measuring what you drain out, or just assuming because the light never comes on?

BTW Cody, I understand the LS1's by design do use a small amount of oil, but dont you think 40 qts every oil chang........er add is a little excessive?

Also, my light never came on till I changed the PCV. Before it was always just a little low when I filled up the empty quart jugs.

Yeah 40 is a bit excessive and yes I just add oil why do an oil change

My oil light doesnt come on till 2 1/2 qts low

If it really bothers you change the pcv valve if that doesnt fix it then valve stem seals is what I would do.
