They fit up better than I thought they would. I made the most primative harness that incorporated a switch and relay. I will be getting a nelson harness pretty soon.

with my ls1 fans, i used a set up made by Imperial that autozone carries and it works great. best part is that its only $25.
i too was deadset on a nelson harness, but didnt want to dish out the $90 for it.

everything you need...only that we upgraded the relay since im running 2 fans... i dont have the part # handy, but it uses an "analog" style thermostat that just sticks tot he radiator (copper colored strip), not the temp bulb and the adjusting screw. I tried that style set up first, it was like $40 but didnt work worth a damn.
a friend of mine set it up mostly, i just know of several people running this set up on ls1 fans and not having any problems at all.
ill see if i can get more info and share it with yall.

I'm gonna have to make a trip to autozone to see what they have. I hate going to the autozone in my area because they don't know jack $hit.

I agree with the Autozone people. It seems like at O'Rielly in Tomball they don't even have to look up the part number because they already know it most of the time. I think I might check out that controller.
04Z71SATX-Did that 145 amp alternator take care of the dimming lights issue?
