Default Fuel Injectors

Looking to pick up some higher flow injectors when I buy Edit. Will the injectors off of the LS1 based vette/ss/ws6's work in a 5.3L application? More specifically, the 28.8# ones from the Z06.

You'll have to splice in new connectors also. With your whipple, I'd probably go with some SVO 30#ers.

jdpanero - Glad to see you over here more often. The pac/aud forum is good and several guys have whipples like you, but most of those guys are pre-99 trucks, so their answers don't always apply. I think you'll gain more relevant info here for your setup.

To expand on silent1's answer: The truck injectors have a unique connector. You'll need to cut off the injector pigtail, and splice in one from a car. Then you can run just about any bosch style injector you want.

you will also need to shim up the fuel rail and tweek the fuel cross over if you go with the car injectors. it would be better to get the truck style injectors if you can. the largest you can get is 43lb @ 58psi. they are about $400 new.

got another injector question for bigtex. what size are the injectors that came with the 01 6.0 and what size are the injectors for a 03 4.8?

Same size injector in the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 from 00 - 04, disregard the flex fuel injector. I forgot the conversion, but its 3.18 in Edit. Roughly 25 pounders.
