Closest E85 to me is 10.5 miles and in traffic. Would like to try it but when I can drive 3/4 of a mile now not sure I can justify a 21 mile round trip.

I get a little better MPG and don't need the increased fuel system, but still get the anti knock and increased octane that seems to work pretty well on the street. Stock48 turned me on to doing it this way.

I get 8-9 mpg on e85 and 11.5-12 mpg on 93 city driving, calculated with the trip mileage. If you go OLSD (I'm still on maf), you could command lean cruise for e85 and get as good if not better than 93. My afr is spot on according to Wheatley's wideband.

I get 9mpg city and 21hwy on E85. On premium 93 gasoline I get 10mpg city and 19mpg highway.

My truck is set up for flex fuel though.

Are you running a OLSD tune? I have never heard of someone getting better mpg on e85 without commanding lean cruise. Wheatley and I played with timing for over an hour on the highway and couldn't get any better than 14mpg.

Hopefully one day E85 makes it's way up to Alaska, would really like to try it for a weekend at the track.

Could you not command lean cruise on 93 octane as well? I don't see how you could get the same mileage out of e85 because it has 25% less Btu's than regular gas. On a side note, my friend got an extra 60hp out of his cobra after switching to e85.

Nope, running VE and the (mostly) original E85 tune that came with the truck. It's a total fuel pig off the line though- city mileage is sometimes less than 9. Cruising @ 65mph I have measured 9.3 gallons of E85 over 195 mile trip.

Also the 93 tune I have is probably not as efficient, but hey, it gets better city mileage than E85, consistently. The E85 tune has more SOP power off the line than the 93 tune too.

Yeah, but e85 provides much more margin for error, whereas going lean on 93 is very bad.

And I haven't had it back on the dyno in similar conditions, but I wouldn't be surprised if I picked up 40rwhp on the corn.
