Exhaust question

2000 NBS 5.3. I know I'm in need of a tune when I get my custom Y and pacesetter lts on, my question is, how sh!!!y will it run till tuned. I've also heard about running spark plug non foulers anybody tried this? It'll be roughly a month before I can get somebody to tune the beast.

It wont run that bad. my brother bought a truck with headers no converters it ran alright but the ses light stayed on.

I drove my Tahoe for a few days after installing headers before I got tuned. As long as you take it easy and avoid going wide open throttle, you should be ok. Codes will be thrown for the rear O2 sensors. That won't hurt anything, but if you throw another unrelated code, you won't know it. That would worrry me. I would try to minimize the time between the install and the tune if possible.

I know I'm expecting the ses I just want to know if it tries non stop to lean the truck out. I'm familiar with later model stuff , don't know how advanced these are.

Brag time. I'm a commercial account with the Company I ordered the headers from. The pacesetters were out of stock so they sent patriots which look much cleaner at the same price. I ordered patriots y pipe so I'm not ghettoing up my rig. Just thought I'd share my fortunate az experience. There goes my powerball luck.
