Default Exhaust help!

I have a 01 5.3l with a superchip, K&N CAI, and true dual 3" exhaust, stock manifolds (for now until the pacesetters come in), no cats, and a dual in/out Magnaflow 12469 muffler
before I took the cats out I had the true dual 3" into 2 Flowmaster super 10's and I really liked that sound but I wanted to free the motor up a lil more, so when it was no cats into the 10's all I heard was a terrible popping noise, I hated it, so I cut them out and ran straight pipe and it popped too at higher rpm's but it was just WAY too loud with the 10's or straight. so I bought this Magnaflow and I love the power I gained from it, but Its just not that loud at all, it still has a good rumble but nothing headturning. what do you guys suggest is the best muffler for power and sound? I heard some Flowmaster 40's that sounded pretty good and a SLP Loudmouth that sounded awesome but it was way to loud, I just want to know what ya'll think. any help is appreciated, Thanks, Blake

If you are running true duals than you won't need 3" anyway. Use 2.5" true duals and throw on a smaller Magnaflow if that is the case.

Werd...3" isnt necessary unless your making BIG power..2.5" will support up to 500hp if im not mistaken

Sure isnt hurting anything, my 3" true duals into this Magnaflow makes a huge improvement over stock, I love the power, the only reason I put 3" on is cause im building a 600hp motor anyway, im definitely not gonna change the pipe I have it ran the whole length of the truck of 3" stainless steel with dual flat black 4" tips, definitely didnt lose any power at all I gained ALOT of it, would it be louder with headers?
