Default Engine issues 2009 Colorado 5.3

My truck is using oil...boarder line but need to plan for what to do.
What's involved in going from 5.3 to 6.0/6.2? Possible to do that or fix existing lower block? Engine has 103k miles...doesn't smoke and still runs good. Thanks for any help!

Swap the block and tune for it, that's basically it. They need to be the same 58x motor though to make it easy.

Or you could just tune your current engine to shut off the AFM/DoD and basically stop the oil consumption. Burning a little oil is just what alot of these LS motors do.

Didn't use oil till the last 20k or so. What is AFM/DoD? I've always wanted to have the surge fixed by retune the computer maybe get all done at one time.

If i remember correctly. The 09 5.3 to 6.2 is a direct swap. Complete plug n play. Just swap the tune file and your done.
Every sensor is in identical spot. Just drop in and go.

As far as a afm/dod delete. Here is the answer. Www.google.com

Default Afm/dod

your truck eng does not have that junk in it.
swapping to a 6.0/6.2 can be done. I did a 6.2
swap. not a cheap deal if you want a good low mileage eng.
and a PCM reflash and a dyno tune. + install job
I do have my 5.3 for sale, under 30000mi. excellent cond
