Electric fans on my 2000 GMC Sierra 1500
Is it worth the upgrade and if so what's the best/easiest route to go to install some? Mine has a 4.8 but I'm planning to build and install a slightly cammed 5.3 in the future. TIA

Ls1 fans and a nelson harness, or make your own

Anyone ever use this?

I used the PCM of NC kit with a set of hand me down LS1 fans. Nice kit, easy install.

My opinion: NO. Keep the clutch fan. No noticeable difference in power, response, anything and you lose reliability switching to electric fans.

I also did the efan swap. I just bought a 34" core radiator like from the newer trucks equipped with efans and then bought the e fans from ebay that go with the newer models. All in all i had about $400 tied up in it and it totally chenges the way your engine compartment looks, it cleans it up a lot. This isnt one of those modes where you will pick up 20 hp and 3 mpg but it is one one of those mods that adds to the overall package. Its a good supporting mod to do along with other things. I also used the blackbear efan harness

Is there any pcm tuning needed? Thinking bout doing this also

If you are lucky you might be able to find an 05-06 truck in the junkyard. I was able to get the fans and the factory fan relay for <$100 which is wayyyy cheaper and factory than those flexalite fans. Assuming that you have the 34" radiator (get it with the fans) and a blackbear tune (efan tune only is $55) in that might cost more.

I called Just Chevy Trucks today and ordered some fans and relays for $360 smthn and ordered the cheapest 34" core radiator off ebay for like $86... my clutch fan has lasted 15 years but my radiator has a crack from a deer I hit and my tranny is pulled right now so ima upgrade while im down
