wasn't there a post just a little while ago that listed a part number for a plug that went into the intake? I think that it was an actual threaded piece and not one of those expandable rubber freeze plug things. I am intersted also.

Yes, the plug is the actual flange from the EGR feed pipe. It's just made without the tube and has no hole in it. Comes with a new seal. Just re-use your old bolt to attach the plug to the intake.

Hey John,
Where can we all get these plugs from? What about the manifold side of the tube? Thanks.

I get 'em right from GM. It's 12558346. Somewhere around $15.

Can't help you on the manifold side. I just weld shut the flanges that have been cut off from other EGR systems here in the shop. As far as I know, you would have to make a block off plate from a piece of steel.

You can make your own block off plate out of steel flat stock. It's not so much the hot air being recirculated as it is the soot from the exhaust. That soot puts a nice layer of filthy black carbon all over your entire intake system. It gets all over the TB, intake manifold and intake runners of the heads.

hey 1BADHD, the egr only operates at part throttle anyway. i don't think there are any power gains to be had just by removing it but it keeps the intake/motor a whole lot cleaner. thats why i got rid of it.
