Default E Fans on a 2017 HD.

Has anyone converted a 2007 plus HD 6 liter truck to e fans? I have done 5 GMT800s myself but never even find a thread where someone does a newer truck. I just picked up a 17 for work and want to toss the clutch fan asap lol. I mean worst case I could grab a gmt800 harness and relay setup and use that... be cool to actually do it how it's factory done on the newer half tons though.

Don't understand why the 2500hd still has a fan clutch. Makes no sense. I would call GM and get part numbers for the 1500 PCM with fans and 2500hd PCM and see if they are the same, if so, you could be looking at the first 17 2500hd electric fan swap!

I know the PCM has the outputs to drive them, it's just what to do about the harness side of things. I refuse to use those aftermarket ones... too many failures. Like I said, worst case is i use the GMT800 or harness and try to make it look factory. But if I can add the oem 1/2 ton harness that would be sweet.

The awesome thing about 2017's too is that they cost double to even tune the PCM.

Someone asked about this on HP Tuners forums on a 2016 and got no answer.

The clutch fan cools better at everywhere but idle, which is why they still use them on the HD trucks.

No... it's a useless piece of **** lol. Might be a concern to those of you where you need to tow 14000 lbs in 125 degree ambient... but if you live where I do... the thing just overcools the truck all winter long... but then it gets actually cold here too lol. Better a/c at slow speed when hot out and better heat retention in the winter time. Plus no parasitic drag and the list goes on. I have been towing heavy with e fan equipped trucks for over 5 years now... no issues and no stupid airplane roaring under the hood. Funny too... this 17 is legal to tow a whopping 9700 lbs.... less than any tow package 1/2 ton which has what fan setup... e fans. Gm uses the clutch fan because it works... it's cheap... and fuel economy on these trucks is irrelevant.
