Does your underdrive pullies make your belt squeal?

I saw 2 posts that the powerbond pullies make the belt squeal?

Should i try a slp or a trick flo?? Only want to do this mod once.

I have a trick flow and it does not squeel, are u running an old belt?

LS1TRUCKGUY 03-19-2011 09:42 PM

Incorrect length or worn belts will do that. I've never seen an underdrive pulley do that

my slp is quiet. i have a new belt though too.

Mine squeals for a split second when the trans shifts at WOT

SLP = Powerbond fyi....

I have the SLP pulley and the recommended part number for the A/C compressor belt was too "loose". It would squeal when the clutch would kick on or at WOT.

I bought a goodyear gator belt .5" shorter and it took care of the problem.

The people that's bought them would you buy them again? Was it worth the gains?

Agreed....they might not ALL be Powerbonds on every platform (Ford, Dodge, etc)...but from everything I've seen all of the LSx platform pulleys are the same pulleys as the Powerbond!

I have a powerbond and it never squeels.
