I'm not sure about the Dealer you would imagine they would... a lil sumthing that I thought was funny my brother in law's pick up lost the hood in a street race... Well when the adjuster came to see it he saw all the mods on it... wrote sum lines on his notebook and 2 weeks later got a cancelation notice from his insurance... lol I guess it just depends on the insurance though... I like the power gains I have Gibson's on my 00 5.3 luv them f**k the warranty... lol

if you are worried about retaining the **** factory warranty, dont mod your truck up.
If you are modding your truck, then you shouldnt give a **** what happens because if you break a stock part due to performance increase, then you will just blow it out over and over again such as a tranny. If you blow the factory 4L60E, wouldnt you think you'd blow it again?

The only thing that can really void your warranty is something that makes mods to the emmissions such as using the power programming option in a HyperTech programmer. Most anything else, installed per manufacturer's instructions can not void the warranty. Check out the Magnuson-Warranty Act of 1975 (do a google search). It protects you from the dealer/manufacturer voiding your warranty. They have to prove the after-market part caused the problem to take any action. The only issue is that the part must be installed per the manufacturer's instructions. Want to see the truth? Check out this site: www.gmperformancecenter.com/silverado.html It is an offshoot of Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix. This is a 450HP, lowered, supercharged, majorily modded full factory warranted truck. Give them a call if you want to know how they did it. This was their answer to GM's lack of producing the SS and it will still kick the new SS's butt all the way from Motor City to AZ! It makes a Lightening look like a toy. I talked to them before I began messing with my truck. There was an article in one of the trucks mags a few years back. When I showed my dealer the article they changed their tune. Try to find out who the performance motorhead is at your dealership and start talking with them and asking their advice. There is always one that knows how to play the game.

NO MODS VOID THE WARRANTY. if something went wrong with the truck, then yes they could blame it on the aftermarket part. but if something ever went wrong just take it off. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
but anyway, if u put headers on and go into the dealership to get it serviced, they wont just say, "ahh your warrantys voided" outa nowhere
do u understand now?

The law is you can do what ever you want to your truck as long as what you did didnt cause the problem. For example, if you put headers on and your radio stops working, no relation. However if you put headers on and take it in for an exhaust leak, well there is a relation.
