denali kat pipes on rcsb silverado?

hey every one!

i have a 2004 rcsb 4.8 silverado pretty much stock just a CAI, removed torque management from the trans & efan conversion

a buddy has the kat pipes from a 2005 denali that are dual pipe unlike my stock y pipe 2 into 1, i have a pair of magnaflow mufflers around so i was wondering will the denali kat pipe bolt on my truck and clear every thing? i know i'll have to add hangers just worried about clearance issues?

what i'm looking to do here is a budget true dual exhaust and cut the kats out and replace them with straight pipe. i'm not looking to dump a bunch of money in the exhaust since future plains are a boosted 6.2 swap and these parts are just sitting around

It should fit fine...the 4.8 and 6.0 are physically the same size and both trucks use a 4l60e....only reason is might not fit is if the Denali is AWD the cat pipes may be routed differently than a 2wd

yeah i know they will bolt up to the manifolds just not sure about the pipe routing hate to take every ting off mine to fine out they wont work

They will, i have them on my 99 just had to remove one of the support brackets from the frame to the trans crossmember mount, and get the trans mounted exhaust mount...only issue i have had is the passenger side hitting the floorboard, but probably has to do with aftermarket replacements.

Wolftrk99 you have any pics of it installed? i'm clueless on the brackets your talking about

thanks

I thought i had one in my trans build thread but this was all i could find, i will look on my laptop later..

cool thanks!

i got two 4" round 14" long so i know i have enough room for them, by that pic i think this can be done fairly easy trucks getting lowered so most likely some turn downs before the axle

13 in picture above part number is 15860242

When i ordered mine it came with the isolator and the nuts, this assuming you have a 4l60 trans... 4l80 has a different bracket, but sinilar concept as the 6.0/4l80 equippd trucks had the cats behind the crossmember.

stroker87 04-02-2017 09:48 PM

that bracket is $90 online not dropping any coin on that i'll just get creative and make something up or pull one from a junk yard this is not a permanent setup for me since i'm going to turbo the 6.2

since i have most of the stuff sitting around and i get board hopping to get it done for less then $50 in parts (pipes to replace cats, some clamps and universal hangers) then just turn off the rear o2's with my HPT

i keep telling my self just to leave the truck alone and wait till i swap the engine but i like to mod lol :)

Wolftrk99 04-02-2017 10:11 PM

Its almost an addiction, the engine swap on my 99 turned into mire of a resto mod than i had planned on and still not done, have a bed and backseat full of parts at the moment. I decided to go that route with the exhaist to give me the true duals because if i ever do go FI it will be a supercharger not a turbo...

Thats what Im saying...they both use the same engine and trans so routing of the Y Pipe should be the same....only thing you should have to worry about is connecting the cat pipes to the mufflers

Walker has a listing for the pipes after them, the denali pipes are really short and 2.5"!!
