Dad jut bought a new GMC yukon, what oil to use?
It's the 5.3 V8 . It's a pretty sick ride. I'm going to change his oil for him at 500 to flush otu the metal shavings and whatnot. Wht should I use. I was planning on using a Dino oil at 500miles and then switch over to mobil 1 Trisynthetic at 1500. That's what I did in ym WS6. What should I use for oil in his truck?

You can do the same you did to yours. I use Amsoil 5w-30. I changed oil at 500, 1250, and 3000. Made the swap to Amsoil at 3000. Initially there were some metal shavings on the magnetic bolt, but none from my last oil change at 12,000 miles.

I've had good luck with Royal Purple 5W30 synthetic. Been running it for 40,000 miles now, and no probs yet. RedLine is a great oil to run too. If I ever switch, it will be to RedLine. A lot of guys run Mobil One. I hear that is some good stuff.
