Default Corsa modded to exit in front of rear tire....

Alright guys,
Now that i have finally found a muffler to swap for and im on the road to being ready to install my Corsa Sport catback, im wondering if anyone has cut the piping by the flange shorter to move the muffler up and have enough room to turn the exhaust out the side in front of the tire with the tips? Im really not too crazy about how the tips look coming out behind the rear tire. I dont necessarily think it looks bad, i just like true side exit or dumps personally. If i cant run it side exit in front of the rear tire, ill probably dump it and sell my tip. Just wanted to ask if anyone has ever had it setup to come out the side and how it turned out? Id like to do it cause it think it will look sweet with the nice as tips and im sure it will sound mean as hell!

you might be able to get away with either a 45* or 90* 3" turn off the muffler, a short piece of 3" and the tips, you would have to add a hanger in there, but the other parts are available at the part stores, really you need to get everything up to and including the muffler under the truck and hung to see how much room you have to work with. I can get a pic of how mine sits, but my truck is an extended cab, so I don't know if there is a wheel base difference, hardest part is getting the correct angle for the tips, and I'm learning that you are a little picky so you may have to get it done professionally to perfect it.

Be kinda cool to get it done like that and still use the Corsa tips.

Nickvrebel: Thanks for the info man! Yea, ill probably be taking it to a local shop to have them fab it up. Ill probably install it completely and then drive it to the shop so we see how much room we have to work with. An yea, i am kinda picky! lol I just like everything to be done right and look right. Im not a fan of riggin things up. lol

99silver6.0: Yea man, i havent seen it done yet but the Corsa tips are bad *** so id hate to let them go to waste. I just hope i have enough room to do it. I know its impossible on a regular cab cause there is nowhere near as much room but im thinking it can be done on a crewcab.

I have NEVER seen it done! So do it!! That said, I would almost bet if you play your cards right... You could even fashion it all up with the tubing you have now!! With the addition of a new exhaust hanger. Do you have a friend with a TIG welder??

I dont blame ya for being picky. Im gonna take all the clamps off and have my buddy TIG all the joints. Except for the tip.

Thats what im hoping cause that way it would all still be stainless and just as durable. I dont have a friend with a welder but ill make the the shop i take it to will be tig welding it all and ill probably need a pipe bender as well so ill still need to take it to the shop.

I agree as far as the tip goes, i dont plan on having that welded because i would like to be able to keep the clamps there to keep from messin the tip up if i ever decide to take it off.

I cant wait to get it set up like that! I think its gonna look sick and its gonna be different!
