Cold Air Intake Question

Hey Guys, I need some help. I bought a 2003 Silverado 5.3 Z71 okay. Well it already has a K&N Intake, but it has the OEM Intake tube instead of the nice K&N Tube. This is because it also has a TB Spacer on it and evidently the K&N Tube will not clear the fan and shroud with the Spacer.

My question is, does anyone manufacture a Cold Air Tube that will work wit my existing Cone Filter & Housing and My TB Spacer?

I'm open for ideas.

Remove the TB spacer, they're useless.

Correct sir!! The Airaid cold air kit will fit with the TB spacer. I had a Airaid TB spacer on my old truck and I contacted Airaid and they said the tube will fit right with the TB spacer.

Thanks Guys

Hey thanks guys for the input, I'll contact Airaid and see what they can cook up. And I don't think I'll be throwing the spacer away!!! Even with the custom exhaust I made for it, and the Nelson Tune, it still gets 18MPG in the city and about 21MPG Highway!!!

You can also just neatly trim the plastic fan shroud. I did it on my 2000 Silverado I use to have. I had a K&N FPIK kit and found it pretty easy to just trim the plastic fan shroud with just a box cutter knife and a small file.
It looked like a factory fit and finish.

Or you could get rid of the damn tb spacer cause it does absolutely nothing for performance just makes a cool sound. The design of the truck intakes proves that the tb spacer does nothing. Or oyu can waste more money and get an airaid MIT but thats just my opinion.

If you feel you must keep the TB spacer, do like others have mentioned here and trim the fan shroud. You might look at a CAI from Mac, I really like mine, it has the chrome tube and looks good as well as fits good.

Just another $.02 ... I've had TB spacers...and would agree that they dont do jack. :turd:

I have the MAC as well and am very happy with it. Also I was told that it was compatible with the tb spacer since the tube is adjustable, but I would get rid of the spacer IMO unless you like the whistle sound.
