When I ahd the 4.8 I had some ticking and was told it was normal and everything else was fine and it was. After I put the LS1 in it got alot louder! Some of the vette/f-bod guys say it sounds like a sewing machine. It gets owrse alot when you do an aftermarket valvetrain! It annoyed me so bad at first and still does a bit but Im used to it and its worth it for me!

i took my truck when it started doing the exact same thing. they said it was a small deposit on the end of the injectors. they ran a 15.00 bottle of injector cleaner through and it was fine for a few weeks and now it has started it again. i am going to try the same thing some good o'l injector cleaner or a few gallons of 114 octane

Well, it turned out to be an easy fix. The day after I started this thread, the noise stopped and I have not heard it again. I guess I scared it away . I added some Chevron Techron concentrate to clean everything anyway. The conclusion I have come to is that if you have a problem with your car, start a thread and wait for the car to fix itself .
