Default check engine light for left and right bank running lean.

alright guys well i got a new battery that took care of my cold start problem..yesterday my cel came on, truck seems to be running just fine. gave onstar a call they said the light was for identical messages my left and right bank were running lean. same message i got a long time ago with my truck for a leak in my intake tube, where a hose clamp slipped off. so i figured thats what it was, checked and my volant is snug as can be, no leaks to be found. What else could throw this message?

Alot of things can cause lean codes, such as a vacuum leak, failing fuel pump, fuel filter...bad or dirty MAF sensors have been known to trip lean codes also...

Tuning if not spot on can do it.

i havent had a problem at all untill now so i think i can rule out tuning. Im getting the exact code tomorow...i really think its a failing fuel pump, dirty Maf sensor maybe. Its just weird because my truck seems to be running perfectly...i thought maybe it was a vacuum leak, but my cold air is snug tight everywhere no problems. Where is the fuel fitler on my truck? i was under the impression i didnt have an inline. Im getting the code read in the morning ill get back by 1230 or so. Thanks for all yalls help

Pretty sure that the fuel filter, on an 03, is on the driver's side frame rail, behind the driver's door area...

03 is on frame rail, 04 is in tank....

If you have it running and run some water around the base of the intake and it starts skipping, you need intake gaskets
