Yes, that could cause an issue. However the code is not for a false knock, it is for lack of enough sound to determine a knock is present.

So there is actually a false knock code too?

The closest thing to that would be a P0325, which I have never seen set. Basically says there is a fault in the knock sensor system and/or high input signal (knock).

If the sensors were shipping in cruddy packaging, they probably had some bumps, drops and collisions on their way to you. I'd recommend grabbing a set of sensors from your local auto parts store, they generally handle their fragile stuff properly.

So the ohms from the sensors and harness are within range, but then again when I checked the old ones after removing them so are they and one was totally rusted up? Do ohms tell the whole story or is there more that could throw a "low voltage" code? It could be my ECU, but should I try swapping it first or do the knocks again?

Well I swapped the knock sensors on e again. This time for some true OEM Delcos. Seems to have fixed the issue......for now at least.

I once saw a beater work truck at the exhaust shop here that had both harness pigtails wired to just the rear sensor as the front one had went bad and the mechs didnt want to spend time or money replacing anything. they swore it worked.
