that's part of the Evap system in the truck. It vents fuel vapors from your fuel tank, when the purge solenoid circled opens. Yes it's important.

that is right the hose that runs on side of that one is for pcv system that one is for your evap.if you remove it you will need to take it out the pcm so it can not give you a ses light,not hard at all.
