cam timing - 1 tooth = how many degrees?

1 tooth is definately more than 8. more like 15-16. why cant things just work the way they're supposed to? moving the cam gear 1 tooth clockwise sent the ICL to about 85. after some reading, the fact that my ICL is at 100 means that it is advanced 10*. i need to retard it 6*

i just called up howards cams. they picked up on the first ring and told me to send that cam back to them ASAP. i said it wasnt a big deal as i wasnt in any kind of huge hurry and he said "i am. i dont like to see incorrect parts and i want to fix this ASAP." Definately the kind of customer service everyone should strive to provide. just wanted to give credit where it was due.

you and me both. just about everything is here. the correct cam and transmission rebuild are the only pieces of the puzzle missing. oh and the wheels/tires and radiator lol. just another 2500-3,000 worth of shiz

oh well. hopefully the new cam sits the right way when dot to dot. i think the odds of the aftermarket cam being off is higher than the odds of the OEM crank or cam gear being off. maybe i'm giving GM too much credit

Nice to hear!!! It is possible that it was set up wrong on the machine. It does happen I have watched the process from start to finish and as simple as it is there are a lot of little things that have to be done correctly.
Glad they want to fix and have great customer service unlike other cam companies...
