ive got a copy of a 02 ls6 cam 204/218 .550/.550, but i had it ground on a 114 lsa. stock is 117.5. truckpulls hard at 3k. I also have the below mods, and this weekend coming up im installing my 3000 stall. you can go 114 lsa with NO problem what so ever. There are many guys on PTrunnin big cams that drive their trucks daily.

man these numbers are still so forign to me!

again, about the LSA... on the comp tech sheet that you linked me too, it shows the LOBE CENER ANGLE... is that the same thing as the LSA?

i have my truck tunned to shift at 5900, so i think when i get my cam i might need to change the shift points... right?

I think i would do something around the cam in my sig!(224/228 113lsa) ive had bigger and smaller ones and thier is no way in hell i would change a cam again if it wasnt a 224 or bigger!(even tho im a heavy 4x4) i had a 220 cam in my truck with a 3000 stall and hated it. it didnt fell worth it. Before the cam swap it was just a full bolt on 5.3 with a 3000 stall and loved it.

I know im jumping around a bit, but im tryin to recope from the lake.

is there a nice write up that anyone knows about that can offer some more details as to what all the numbers mean and what each number does to the truck?

why do you recomend the bigger cam?

i like bigger cams for NA but with FI its a diff game.

people say u loose a lot of low end with bigger cams but i gained so much on top end and even with the old converter if felt alot better down low and would hills better than pre cam swap!

so the numbers 206/212 are the duration at .050" lift... thats about mid range RPMs...

how do i know how that relates to power? and how can i find the duration at .002" for low end and .2" for high end>?

I would go with something like a 210/218 .595/.590 on 110lsa to make your peak power lower because I doubt you want it near 6.5krpm peak. You're wanting a damn good passing gear, right?
