Default BTR ls3 stage 4 in a 4.8

Have a local guy wanting me to cam his truck, its an 08 4.8. The cam is 233/250 113+3. .618/593. Way to big in terms of torque loss vs power gained, but Will it physically "fit" with out PTV clearance issues? I have tried talking him out of it but I dont think hes going to budge.

It should be OK as far as PTV wise. But, as you know - it's going to be a turd. Tell him to get a 4K stall and 4.88 gears. lol

Real world exp, put a TSP 216/220 .600" on a 110 LSA 106 ICL in a 2013 4.8L - no PTV issues. And a tick N20 cam in a flat top 5.3L with milled 862s 58cc, 2.02 intake valves... the Tick cam is 240/246 .600"+ lift, 113 LSA. No PTV issues with that one either.

That’s a horrible cam for a 4.8, the one in the first post. Don’t do it.

If that's what he wants and doesn't want to listen to reason, let him have it. Seriously, charge him the labor to check PTV clearance and all that. I'm not trying to be rude, but sometimes you gotta let people figure things out the hard way....

Ask him what he wants? If he wants the lope, that can be easily obtained with a smaller cam and little overlap.

If he's hell bent on it, charge him for it. Then when he comes back and says he doesn't like it, charge him again.

That would be a hell of a better choice... still big for a 4.8

224/230 .553/.553 and the 109* LSA will give that little 4.8 a lot of chop!

The funny thing is a stock 4.8 will probably smoke him after he has that cam installed. I could see in that motor was in a 3000 lb car but in a truck that is going to be horrible.
