Bosch platinum+4 plugs

Has anyone used these or maybe the splitfire plug. Any difference from stock??? http://www.boschusa.com/AutoParts/Sp...PlatinumPlus4/
The plugs in my 02 5.3l were NGK PZTR5A. I posted earlier and got a reply from someone and looked at all the links to the similar posts, and everyone was using different plugs than the stock ones from my year and motor. I know some get phased out and are replaced with a new plug with the same heat rating, what gives?

Re: Bosch platinum+4 plugs

I used the bosch +4 on my 4.8 i didn't like them very much not worth the money in my opinion i went with ngk tr55's for my 4.8l they seem to idle better
i had the +4's in for like 30000km and got rid of them
just Go with Ngk tr55's you can replace them 3times before you go through a set of the bosch plugs

Thanks alot Jim. It's hard to tell these days what is a gimmick and what is not. there is so much new technology it isn't funny.
Thanks for the educated opinion. :burn:

I have to agree, I used the Bosch +4 plugs in my Grand Prix and wasn't happy with the result. Put in NGK tr55's and was very pleased with the performance.

Re: Bosch platinum+4 plugs

I too agree. I've used them in my wifes camry. After about 1k miles it would be a little hard to start some times. I swapped them out and the starting problem went away. I had a friend put them in his 97 350 and one day he was complaining about his truck not wanting to start. I told him what happened in my wifes camry so he changed them out and his problems went away. I've been running the ngk tr55 for about 4years in different trucks and cars and have never had a problem.

I think those 4 tips on the bosch plugs just get in the way and hinder combustion not improve it like they say.
