You will love it, its quiet at idle and cruise speeds. Once you get on it, it gets crazy loud!

I bet it. It won't be back pressure backfire at all? How long have you been have this borla xr1?

I run the 3" Si/So xr-1 oval multi-core muffler. I think it was described as "******* loud" earlier in the thread. I'd agree with that. I run it with pacesetter LTs/ORY. A little drone, and some rasp.

Its louder than I wanted. But I like it.

I'll be getting the 24" round with 3.5" piping...ARH LT's catless...I have a buddy with a 6.0 and that thing is super loud...He was running the 15" round at first and had a little backfire/popping...swapped to the 24" and it hardly ever pops unless he hits the gas just right in neutral...I'll post up some sound clips around August once I get the truck to a muffler shop!!

I have the obx's with the driver side hump and dummy cats. The muffler is the longer (16" body I think) xr-1 oval. It's welded to a 3" mandrel dynomax I-pipe with a mandrel turn down pointed out about 25* below horizon. The end of the exhaust is nearly under the axle. It's pretty loud at wot. Not really vette/borlamouth on an f-body esque if that's what you're looking for. It's got a little of that scream way up top. It has that weird yawning cruise tone like those cars do though. Shitty truck tone at mid rpms. Drones a bit, but no rasp. Maybe a cam and some more rpm will make it wail (6100 rpm shifts).
Not worth the money I paid. Shoulda had the dump welded on my new I-pipe, that was amazing without a muffler. No rasp like having the y-pipe open.
My truck "gurgles" a bit on decel when the converter is locked or it shifts into o/d after flooring it then letting off.
From what ive seen of pics of my part # muffler, they used to have an elliptical perforated metal insert in the flow path. Mine is straight through like any other brand. Might call Borla about that.
