Wassup yall.... I'm currently running true duals 2.5 pipe, ASM LT's, no cats, Magnaflows magnapack mufflers with chevelle tips. It's way to loud, and really raspy, it sounds about like straight pipes. I wanting to go with Borla's XL this time just to have something different. What is a good size muffler to run with a true dual setup, and the ones that are running what do you think of these mufflers. I want something that is really deep and has a good tone, and that is not raspy. I'm also thinkin about adding a x-pipe, and maybe Z-28 tips to get a deeper tone. I appreciate the help thanks.......

 

Is there a reason why a lot of people dont run them, besides them being expensive. I just heard a lot of people say they sound really good. I have a friend that runs a 2in 2out Borla on his lightning and its quite while cruzin and has a loud deep tone when he kicks it sounds really sweet. I would go with the regular Mags but I just want something different,that nobody around here has on a chevy. I appreciate the help

 

i have a borla on mine with no cats..... very very quite at cruising speeds and definatley noticable @ WOT.... I have a borla pro-xs 3"in/2.5"dualout... I think mine is like a 22"case (which ever the biggest size is.) would definately recommend if you want quite when cruising down the highway...

 

Im running a 12" Borla XR1. Love the tone. Still have my cats on at the present. Not gonna run them when I put my headers on. Im anxious to see how it sounds without the cats though. At idle its loud. But as you cruise through the RPM's its fairly tame. Till you hit about 2500-2600RPM's. Thats where it resonates a bit. But once past 2600 or so it goes away. Im not really bothered by it but some are. I want to hear it run, thats all Ill say.

 

I'm running a Borla Cat-back on my 5.3. Single 3" in dual 2.5" same side exit. Stock Y pipe and cats. Had it on for almost 5 years and 130K miles. It is fairly quiet when going easy but lights up when you romp on it. Good throaty Borla sound. It did resonate a little inside my resonator chamber (Tahoe) but a little soundproofing project inside elimiated that problem. ALso think I lost a tad down low but picked up a lot in the mid to upper rpm range.

 

Aight well I'm still tryin to decide anything will be better than what I'm currently runnin. My flowmasters that i has sounded great but, I wanting more performance. I'm going to order them out of Jeg's since I have $100 gift certificate. I believe the Borla XR1's will resonate, like my Magnapacks do. But long as they scream when I kick it and mild while I'm cruzin I might go with them. Thanks for the replies

maybe you should get the hooker aerochambers.... cheaper and people have given really good reviews about them???

 

Deckhand...... You have the exact setup I plan on running. What size is your mufflers the 19'in 2.5 single in and out muffler. How do you like the sound cause I'm thinkin a x-pipe will stop alot of that raspy sound. Hookers I have heard good things about, but everything on my truck I try to get the best. I just always wanted to always try Borla's. I'm probably going to order them this week so tryin to decide to go with the 14in or the 19in muffler. I don't care how loud it is as long as it aint raspy and poppin sound.

 

Hey yall...... I did order my Borla exaust mufflers from JEG'S. I ordered 2 of the Borla 19in. case Borla Turbo's. They were 173.00 a piece so they better be good. hey but they are on backorder and Jegs told me today they want have them until the end of Nov. Do yall know anywhere else I may be able to get me a set from, are there any sponsors on here or any of yall that sell them. I appreciate the help yall.
