Default Blocks the same

Is the 8.1 block similar to the 454 block. What I want to do is swap everything from the 8.1 to a 540 that i have at my shop. I was wondering if anyone knows if the bolts are going to be the same for the accesories. Thanks

To the best of my knowledge the 8.1 is a standard Chevy Big-Block in terms block dimensions and bolt locations....I've seen at least one swap that used a 454 block and the top-end off of an 8.1 (heads, intake, fuel-injection,TB, etc...)

Alrigfht very cool. I just have to make sure that the heads are that same bolt pattern. Thanks for the info.

I heard from Livernois Motorsports that the block is different. Does anyone know for a fact if 454 blocks and 496 blocks are the same? Thanks.
