Black Smoke?
For some reason, when I'm at WOT or even 3/4 throttle....im shooting out black smoke out my exhaust? I also have a P0300 DTC being thrown, if that would have any relevance.
any ideas? TYIA, chris |
Black smoke = running rich/unburnt fuel
P0300 = random misfire code Start checking the basics; Plugs, wires, FPR, etc |
definitely running rich
|
white smoke = Oil burn
Black Smoke = Unburned fuel or you have a diesel and dont know it :jest: |

to alot of poeple oil smoke looks bluish white and since its not like navy blue they call it white, im guessing its the same smoke you guys just having different color spectrums
|
so, my main question is.....is the black smoke and the misfire related?
i have a couple days off this week and plan to look into this more....if i dont see any damage to the plug wires....i guess ill pull out the plugs. what should i be on the lookout for? |
a plug wire not making contact to the plug would be my first check then the plugs...
|
to fix the black smoke try and get your fuel leaned out or check its mixture
