Big Block Swap???

Hey Guys,
I have a 2006 GMC Sierra RCSB 5.3L w/ 4L60E trans. I'm wondering if swapping in a BBC is possible. I know I'd have to modify the fuel system, cooling system, ignition system, exhaust system, but I'm wondering what else would be needed. Would I need to change engine mounts? Will the 4L60E bolt up to a BBC? Thanks Guys!

im gonna be the first to ask WHY?

it certaintly isnt for fuel mileage or power...

If it was me.... and i was going to go through all that trouble... i would make it a big Pain.... Why not put a D-max in it

BBC isn't worth it IMO...if you're going to big cubes go with a well-built 408 that will drop right in. All you'd have to change it the tune. And probably the tranny, I doubt the 60E would hold up for long. You'll get just as much (if not more) power, and better mileage.

i just cant believe we are actually saying the word mileage in the same breath as 408 and big block.... :jest: and truck for that matter

Mileage, you know....gallons per mile.... :)

the only thing i can see it for is a show truck or bragging rights

unless you want monster power and torque in a NA motor as in 650rwhp(540BBC), but then again your could just a build up a LSX block and have that much power or more

Why do such a slice job on a basically new truck. Go with a LQ4 or LQ9 6.0L with a cam, tuning, stall converter/trans. mods, and other supporting bolt-ons. You would probably forget about that BBC quick.

look into the 01 with the HD conversion. that guy put a 8.1 BBC in it. he used two trucks. a HD frame and a 1500 frame to drop the 496 down in it

but like others said its pointless. you can get 427 factory cubic inchs with small block lsx
