best spark plug wires

what are the best spark plug wires and the second best for the 5.3L(just so I have a few options), do they make a difference?
Thanks

hey

i used msd's on all my trucks and had one hit up against a heat shield. put magnecores on now and i think either are great wires. ;)

I had Taylors on mine for anout 40k. The other day though when I was messing around, I found one that was split at the plug boot and very brittle. I put MSD's 8.5mm back on, but the Taylors are much easier to plug into the coils. the MSD's needed a lot more finessing. But either one I like. BTW, after 40+k on the Taylors being near the header, I got my money's worth, and would have gotten them again (maybe the Thundervolt 8.5mm over the Spiro 8mm) if they would have had any of the Taylors in stock where I got the MSD's.

I ordered a set of Taylors. Good quality wire for the money. They should be here later this week...then off to O'Reilly for some new plugs. :)

I put a new set of Taylors on my SS. After 3 weeks, I was going to recheck my plug gap, and 2 of the 8 wires broke off when pulling them off the plugs. I won't use Taylors again.

Did you forget to use dielectric grease on the plug tips?

I did that on a set of FMS wires on my F-150 and screwed them up. I've used that grease since then when I change plugs and in my constant header swapping days on it. Haven't had a wire terminal pull out yet.

Yep, I used the grease. They weren't stuck to the plugs, but the connector that clicks to the plug just pulled off the wire. I could twist the wires around the plug, so I know they weren't stuck.

STOCK plug wires. :judge: Never had a problem getting them on/off, splitting, no radio interference, etc....

Flame away. ;)
