Best di/do muffler??
#1
I've used search quite a bit and I'm sure yall are tired of hearing about mufflers but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Right now I have a Flowmaster 50 series dual in dual out muffler on my truck. I'm wanting something with alot less drone on the highway and low rpms, but I'd like it to be pretty loud at WoT. The flowmaster resonates alot at 2k-3k rpms, which is the rpms it is in almost all the time and I am getting annoyed
. I'm looking at a magnaflow dual in dual out and I'm wondering how it would be sound wise compared to the flowmaster 50 series. Also are there any other dual/dual mufflers out there that would be any quieter? I want it to flow as well as possible and still retain a dual/dual muffler but be quiet at low rpms, esp on the highway. I've heard of di/do mufflers from IMCO, HD Pro Flo as well as magnaflow but do not know much about those.
Thanks in advance,
Ryan

I have the Flo-Pro HD dual-in single-out on my truck and love it. No highway drone or resonance at all. I actually think it is quieter at highway speeds than my stocker. At wot it has a nice growl to it. The muffler is loudest at 1500-1800 rpm, which makes it fun to just putt around town. With a 3.42 gear (I have a 3.73), that may make it "loudest" on the highway, but it would be nothing like my experiences with the Flowmaster or Hooker mufflers I had in the past.
There are a couple of posts on here about the Flo-Pro HD you may want to search for.

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=487 this is what i got, has the built in xpipe. think i paid like $89 for it. not a true x because its perforated or whatever they call it. have yet to install it but was recommended to me probably by 8 or 9 out of 10 people on this site.
