Are you planning on a higher stall torque converter? You should.

Imo, look into a s/c.

a crane 210/218 would be a low end torque monster in a lq4

You'll be fine with LS6 springs with this cam, although I'd step the cam itself up to the Crane/Vinci 216/224 .551/.551 115, which will still work with yellow LS6 springs...

I have a tsp224 in my 2500HD cc and will say I lost some tq under 2000rpms but its not noticable even with the fastlxrt intake and with the 2800-3000 circle d converter I have it pairs together nicely. You mash the gas and she gets moving nicely. I was really surprised to see my 6000lb log move so well. I still tow once and a while too.

this is exactly why i recommended the tsp220 cam. it should work just as good if not better on the towing side since the power kicks in a little bit after 1700. you dont want a cam that isn't going to get going after 2000 due to the stops and goes you do when towing in town or what not.

If the heads haven't been milled, 7.4's will work. Go with whatever brand of hardened pushrod that you can find for the best price, such as Comp Magnums, TSP, etc.
