Default Any tricks and or advise fire removing gas tank strap bolts

Like the title says, bolt just spins and won't come out. Tried prying against it while spinning and still nothing. Any advice?

Cut the straps, drop the tank, cut the bolts. Buy new straps, bolts and clip nuts. It won't be too expensive. Get only OEM parts, the straps from O'Reilly's don't fit.

Thanks, any idea where I can get the oem ones? Mine appear to be plastic and not metal. The gmc stealership wants 100 dollars for both. They didnt even show clip nuts listed, just the bolts.

You can get a wrench up in there or at least a screw driver to pry against the nut to keep it from turning. If its rusty try some kroil or pb blaster. You can probably save your straps but I would get new nut clips tho

Tried that, it just spins, even tried to pry against it with a impact and still nothing. Kroil and PB blaster did nothing.

They are steel with a plastic coating. That is too much money. I checked two dealers, the second parts guy wasn't an *******. I don't remember for sure what I paid, but it was half of the first dealer's quote.

You should build a signature that at the very least gives the year and model of your truck.

Often if I use my personal skills the dealership will usually cut me some kind of discount.
