Another EGR question

I want to get rid of my EGR system and I have already searched everthing to do with EGR on this site and have found out that it will need to be tuned out and that I will have to use either the gmpartsdirect.com pn=12554606 block off plate or 1 1/4-1 3/8 rubber expantion plug to close the hole up in the intake manifold. My question is that I have Pacesetter long tube headers and cant find the stupid block off plate for the headers that came with it, what else can I use to block off the EGR on the headers after I block off the hole in the intake manifold? Also If I decide to do this before tuning it out, I assume all I will get is an SES light but shouldnt hurt anything.
Thanks

Try giving Thunder racing a call or search the website. I've bought two of the plates your looking for from them.

I took the factory egr plate that bolts to the header, cut the pipe off and got just the part that bolts to the header. Then I filled the whole were the pipe would be with a bolt or whatever, I smoothed mine. Then paint it with high temp black and ur all set. On the intake cut the tube off short and put a rubber nipple on it then wrap it in electrical tape. Fill the void around it with silicone and paint it all black. You will never know it was there. Thats the cheap and easy way to do it in a pinch.

hey man, if you havent already fixed it you could do what i did. I have stock manifolds still and I used the gm plug for the intake manifold but instead of a plate for the exhaust i used a freeze plug. i bought 3, a 3/4 inch and one size up and one size down(i dont remember which it was) It was a very tight fit and looks very clean. just a thought.
