Aftermarket exhaust 2006 6.0l
I'm looking at buying this 2006 crew cab 6.0L, my only problem with it is that it's straight piped, it ends right at the start of the bed. He is giving me the stock exhaust too, but I want something quiet but mean sounding, nothing extremely loud as my ears are already shot. What should I go with aftermarket wise?

I imagine the Dynomax one is pretty good. Stainless, 3", perforated tube muffler with fiberglass packing. I had one on my V6 Ranger and it was quiet and throaty. Barked when I got on it. Loved the magnaflow on my Lightning. I won't install my Dynomax system for a little while. 39442 is the part number. I got mine off Rock Auto last week for $350 shipped... I got the last one. They literally just raised their price this week to $425 plus shipping.

I have a dynomax system on my 5.3, sounds good and very quiet at freeway speeds, can barely even hear it over road noise.
It's not super aggressive at full throttle though, a nice rumble. |
Mbrp stainless, its 3" to 3.5" tip or tips.
Same idle volume as a 12+ truck and great sound up to 3k where it starts barking at ya. Wot is very nice. If you can find someones 2008+ catback, get it as it is 3" and stainless. Then get a 2012+ oem muffler. If you decide you want more sound, install a cutout. |
If I were to do it again, just installed my Dynomax kit, I would've just stuck the longest straight through muffler on it. Just for the sake of money. Won't inhibit flow at anything below 500hp to the wheels. Magnaflow is a great option

I have Magnaflow cat back on all my trucks.
I replaced a flow master that was cut and spliced in. |
Magnaflow accept no substitute other than a borla

I love the sound of the Gibson true dual on my 6.0. gives it a mean rumble with little to no drone when I'm doing 35 in 4th gear. Turns heads on takeoffs and doesn't make my teeth fall out from drone.
