Aftercooler in new dyno numbers with pics!

With alot of help from some good friends the aftercooler is in. Will post some pics and dyno sheet soon.Yesterday the truck put down 511 rwhp :eek2: 421 tq at 11.5 boost. Can't wait to go to the track! The AF/C setup was designed by Meach13 , he also does the tuning and the pipe work on the engine, just to name a few things. Two other friends Jerry & Rusty helped an awful lot with numerous things.

TIRBRNR is that a 5.3?What kind of numbers were you making without the intercooler? With 511rwhp you should be in the high 11s.

Re: Aftercooler in new dyno numbers

the truck is a 5.3 it was on pump gas not sure how much the aftercooler added but last time at the dyno made 425 we took off the fmu added some timing and added the aftercooler we were tired of having to run 100 octane with 11.5 psi to keep it from pinging so now we are on pump gas

Very nice numbers. Are you running an air/air intercooler? Do you have any pictures of the setup?

Re: Aftercooler in new dyno numbers

so this is a custom made settup correct. I want to do something like this in the future when i put a procharger on my truck. I do not like there intercooler setups. I would prefer a air to water intercooler over air to air any day. I am realy interested in this project. Please post some links if there are any were i can look at some of the parts you used.

Also one thing i have wondered for a long time is how to fab intake piping. What kind of pipe what kind of welder is used and such. If you would not mind sharing some info with me it would be greatly apretiated.
Thanks Ryan

Re: Aftercooler in new dyno numbers

I really like that setup as well, If i ever do a procharger, id like to run that same setup but with a procharger in place of the vortech
