the bypass valve that was in my kit is made by bosh, the black plastic one.
the spring is only good to hold back 6 psi, any more and it starts to open and lose boost.
right now I am not running any bov or bypass at all, plug the holes and let the pressure build.
at 6 or 9 psi you don't really need it, I am sitting at 11 and I can tell I need to get one.
powerdyne told me that the belt with the kit will work on all pulleys, I do not need a intercooler, and the bypass valve was good for the higher pressure from the 2.70 and smaller pulleys.
WRONG..
the belt was too long.
a intercooler during spring, summer heat, and fall will make a big difference.
and the bypass valve would start chirping at 7 psi and lose boost.

right now I have a $1.59 out side water valve in place of the bypass valve.
if I really want to bust someone's *****, i will open the valve and let the boost go, letting them win so when we stop they will talk **** and up some cash thinking they have a winner and i must be stupid wanting to race again for cash.
pop the hood, close the valve, and run again with 11 psi forced in the motor.
now it is a different story with an extra 150 horses under the hood.
i just wish i could set this up with just a push of a button and never having to get out of the truck to close the valve. boost on command so to speak.

Any suggestions on which BOV to get? Just want to be safe and have everything last a bit longer.

Pappydan maybe you could retrofit a remote bottle opener for a nitrous kit I woouldnt think it would be too hard.

thats not a bad idea to get the vacuum to disengage and let the valve stay close.
I'm glad you thought of that I was not even thinking about any of NOS stuff to make it work.

Pulled the vacuum line and plugged it and still no difference with psi. Still no more than 5-6psi. Now whats up?

Got a gatorback belt and 9psi pulley. No belt slip as of right now that I can hear. Just seems like as soon as it hits 5psi, its a brick wall and won't let it go no higher.

lets try a test, disconnect the by pass valve on the pressure side, remove the vacuum line and plug it. remove the 90 on the pressure tube and screw in a plastic pipe plug, I think they cost less then a dollar at home depot.

now I had the same problem, nothing over 5 to 6 psi, I checked for leaks, nothing, I check for a blown off vacuum line, again nothing, finally I started revving the motor while I was under the hood looking for the leak and that is when I heard a chirp, did it again and again until I found it, it was the bypass valve, I sealed it off, went for a run and hit 9 psi on the boost gauge.
