95 Sierra 350 TBI clogged cat
#1
I have a 95 Sierra 350 with a clogged cat and I am considering my options. The truck is bone stock, extended cab, maual transmission with a 3.42 open rear. The O2 sensor is high on the port side manifold.
The only thing I Know I am *not* doing is a new gm cat, that is way too expensive.
Since it is over 15 years old I think I can just go with a straight pipe. That would be the cheapest route by far, what would that do to torque and gas milage? I'm not too concerned about hp.
I might also try a high flow cat, if I can pick one up for cheap that is bolt in, durable and won't hurt performance.
Any suggestions?

Running no cat will do nothing. No downstream O2's so no codes. Make the exhaust louder as the cat acts as a resonator as well. Other than that probably make the truck run stronger all around. If emissions are of concern in your part of the world a cheap high flow cat will work just fine.
