Gutted cats
I know the right way is to remove them and replace with a straight pipe, but how much of a difference will this make compared to just gutting them out? I have a y pipe with gutted cats, and was wondering cause I also have some 2 1/2 pipe, and am trying to decide if I should just use the y pipe, or replace the cats first.

you probably wont get much of a differance eitherway as long as you get it all out... you exhaust might have a little more of a hollow note... The only hard part about cutting them out is keepin all the tubes and flanges alligned (unless you do it on the truck) so what I did was run 2 pieces of steel across the tubes in a X pattern and weld it all to geather so nothing could move
