anyone happen to know the type of connecting rod the truck motors use?

The rods are hot forged powdered metal. They are the strongest rods GM ever put into a production small block. Plus the rod cap isn't cut off, and machined like most rods. It is fracture split, and the surface is left rough, so when you put them together, it locates itself, and the grain structure isn't interupted (as much).
