So I have an '85 K-10 that I'm doing a 5.3 swap in. The 5.3 power steering pump has a line coming off the side of the reservoir that the power steering pump currently in the truck doesn't have. I presume that's for hydroboost systems but not completely positive. The 5.3 came from an '04 1500 Suburban. Question is, just use the one currently in the truck (I don't even know if it will fit the bracket that came with the 5.3) or can the one that came with the 5.3 be used? This is the one that came with the 5.3, notice the line off the side of the reservoir. Doesn't appear to be a pressurized line.



Pump currently on the truck. Similar just without that 3rd line.

 

That is a return line for a hydro boost system. Yes you can use it.
