Default 5.3 FI. Blower or Turbo?

I've been thinking about adding some more power to the truck (2012 5.3 Silverado 4x4) now that I picked up a daily, and can't seem to figure out which route I'd like to go.

Truck currently has

Texas Speed 1 3/4" long tubes and Y pipe
Texas Speed 216/220 112LSA .600/.600 VVT cam

Truck currently makes 349hp/337tq on 91oct.

I've been trying to read as much as possible on the blower vs turbo setups, but can't seem to make up my mind. I know the maggie tvs2300 and tvs1900's both are really popular. I've seen a few threads where people rock the E-force and have liked it.

And then I've seen turbo builds with some wicked numbers. Trick turbo seems to be a popular budget friendly setup, with decent numbers. But turbo setups seem to have more of the "lets go bigger" illness that strikes most folks. So easy to swap out parts here and there for a little more power, a little more power, a little more power. It seems to be neverending.

I don't want to build my trans (6l80e), and don't want to tear apart the block. From what I've read, the stock intake mani should be fine for quite some time, and the factory heads flow plenty. Can't seem to get a straight answer on my cam though. Some people say this cam is not good for a turbo setup, but fine for a blower (due to the LSA), and some people say it'd be fine for either.

I just want a fun, reliable truck, with a thrill factor, that I'm not constantly working on/breaking things. 450-500whp seems to be the number that would achieve that.

I am open to any/all suggestions.

I guess it's also worth noting that I currently do not tow anything, but would still like to retain the option to, if I needed to (thinking about picking up a fishing boat).

Personally, I would do the 1900 kit and call it a day

difference between the 1900 and 2300 on this truck? I've read the 1900 will create more low end tq, and could put a smaller pulley on it for a couple more psi?

Looks like the 1900 and smaller pulley would get me right around that 450-500whp number?

And is the 2300 too big for the 5.3? I've seen more people tend to run them with the 6.2

Buy what you can afford at the time youre ready to buy.

the differences between the 2 back to back are pretty small for a mostly stock 5.3

2300 will make more torque and more power, over all= more air at all speeds
1900 will cost less, new or used

Both will be a huge improvement to the truck. I dont know that I buy the "too big for X displacement" argument. A bigger blower just provides more air with less work, IMO. The engine will only ingest what it can, anyway. The rest accumulates in the manifold= boost. Boost is just air in the manifold that the engine hasnt been able to ingest yet.

For what its worth to you, I am putting a 1900 on a 408, and have no reservations about it.

Why would the 1900 make more low end torque?

I figure the 2300 is better bc you can run a larger pulley but make the same boost and get less belt slip. I'm leaning towards the 2300 but if the 1900 has better off idle response I'm all about it...

The difference is the 2300 case is a few inches longer and it comes in a jackshaft version. Thats it.

With the same size pulley the 2300 will move more air and make more boost, but they can both be pullied to make the same boost number, the 2300 will just have a larger pulley. They will be pretty much identicial until you max the 1900 out around 550-600rwhp and the 2300 can go to about 750rwhp reliably.
