5.3 to 6.0 swap
 

i have a 02 chevy rcsb and i want to swap a 6.0 in. what should i be looking for to pull one out of? Will a 6.0L out of an 08 truck work?

The 08s are GMT900, The will work but it will be alot easier to find on out of a 1500 or 2500 hd out of a 99-06. Silverado SS or a GMC Denali also have 6.0L

ok thanks. i figured i'd ask about the 08 because there was one close by. but i will look for a 99-06. Am i able to use the Computer from the 5.3 in a 6.0l

I'm a noob to the forum and even I am getting tired of the "Is a 5.3 to 6.0 swap possible?"

There should be a sticky for this, maybe there already is...didnt look. Instructions: Remove your 99-06 5.3, install 2001-2006 6.0

I found a 6.0 out of a 2005 chev express van. It has very high milage for $250. it had low oil pressure and lifter noise when they pulled it out. should i buy this one and rebuild it. or should i look for something else.

Id find a lower mileage running one with no issues and maybe just rering and bearings, new oil pump, all new seals....
