I think i found a solution. GM makes a autotrac gear with a 32 spline adapter that bolts right into the transfer case allowing for the 4L80E to slide right into it. The only thing else that probably has to be done is to lengthen the drive line.

Damn. Im glad I havent purchased a tranny yet. That's a great price and takes care of all the apprehension I had about getting things modified. I think there are going to be quite a few more trucks running around on 80's in the near future.

Sure, a lot of times it is easier to just to talk it over with you. It is fairly simple process.

That still wouldn't work for us AWD guys though would it?

I custom design the camshafts for the trucks. One of the main reasons we dont run a lot of duration on the 4.8/5.3L is due to fact that they are pritty much slower then a stock truck out of the hole. Unless they obviously run some type of stall converter. I experianced that several years ago when screwing with ZO6 cams etc. I really didnt like the bottom end of those cams. So we really dont run to many of our cams below the .550" mark for torque and bottom end usues.

I still have to call the company about converting over to the AWD.

I am pretty new to the cam info andstill trying to learn about them so excuse the somewhat newbie questions. What would be the benefit of using a reverse split cam than a regular cam? Why would you use one?

Whose lobes are being used for your camshafts?
