Default 4L60e...rebuild questions

Ok...I think the tranny is slowly headed south and I've only got 3k more miles while it is still under warantee. It takes it about 1-2 full seconds to make the 1-2 shift over 75% throttle, with or without TQM. I know the service manager at a local dealership and I think they will probably just rebuild it under warantee. Now he did say that if I wanted to change anything, if I got the parts they would do it. No biggie I guess.

I really don't know what I'm going to do with it right now. If they just replace it then I'll take the new one and just drive it for a while and have a shop put the servo's and shift kit in it. If they do end up rebuilding it instead of replacing it. What all parts should I get and where should I get them from?

Auto's are still a mystery to me...I'm a much bigger fan of the manual boxes.

I know a few of you guys have had them built, rebuild them yourself, or just bought new ones. What are your thoughts and ideas so it won't go out again?

1 new one way clutch low
1 new planet carrier rear
1 new tempered press plate 3-4
1 new tempered press plate forward
1 new press plate reverse
1 new Del 217 392 pressure regulator
2 new updated servo springs
1 new shaft output (sheared mine in two)
1 new solenoid A
1 new solenoid B
1 new solenoid PWM TCC
1 new K61908SB sonnax boost valve
1 new sun gear rear
1 new updated sun gear shell (Highly recommended if you going to put in a shift kit and servo, it is an upgrade from the gm shell)

and also get you a good stall if you can. it makes driving more fun
thats about all that is listed on my reciept, now the only thing is for you to find a good transmission shop to rebuild it.

HERE are some rebuild kits with everything you need. I recomend the Mega Hoss Deluxe kit. Add a transgo to that and you will be set

Yeah, just put the lists together from 01Thunder and Bidkid. That should have you set. If you are going to built it, do it all at once...halfass builds are just that.

Remember NO washers in the 1-2 accumulator w/ a TransGo.

Sweet, thanks guys. I still have yet to find some time to take it into the shop and get it looked at and see what they are going to do as far as warantee coverage on it. Like I said the dealership is pretty cool, just hope the auto guy they have knows what he's doing.

All I really care about is that it can hold up to some mods if I get around to doing a cam and LTs on the truck as well as be able to hold up to pulling the Camaro a few weekends out of the year, and not feel like the slush box that it is.

Chad at KDSperformance rocks.

Another vote. I'm very satisfied.

Guys,

Which rebuild kit along with a transgo shift kit would make my 4l60e tranny handle about 500 to 600 horsepower. I want to build a 409 and I want to rebuild the tranny to handle the power from this engine.

heres the trans go kit for you
Gm 4L60E TransGo Reprogrammable Shiftkit HD2 Series B
this is the high dollar kit. runs about 120 or so.
the items mentioned above will be close or better for what you want. just make sure you up grade all the GM parts that you can. they will not hold up to much more over stock IMO.
