4.8 turbo vs. swap???
So a couple weeks back i asked a questions about upping the power in the 4.8 i got. It seems the popular consensus was to just straight swap it. So i briefly looked at swaps and thought about the l92 with a 6l80e. Any thoughts? is this a good idea for a budget build or should i just keep the 4.8 and turbo/sc it and build the 4l60e to handle the power?

That's right!!! With a good tune you should be able to put down 900 wheel...no it wont last long but 700 wheel would last a while. These 4.8 are dirt cheap, just get good at changing them out till you learn to tune or find the limits of the rods. How much HP do you need??

HEHE.......
The goal is to either keep the 4l60e and keep pushing that til it blows so I can get it rebuilt or throw in a 4l80e and keep it a BEAST of a street truck that can still haul a boat or some jet skit's. What hp level would you guys rec. with that?

foose still pulled his boat with well over 800 hp. There is not a recommended hp level for certain types of activity.......you simply get as much hp as you can with the budget you set in place........or like most of us on here do you get as much hp as you can with 3 times the budget you set in place
