4.8 LS6 cam question
Couple questions:
1. If I drop this cam in my truck along with pushrods and valve springs can I tune using a diablosport? 2. Do I need to re-locate my cam sensor? 3. Is there any better stock cam? I'm looking for a cam I can swap too that I can maintain drivability with while keeping my stock stall. Thanks! |

Yea I don't think you'll like that cam all thst much in a 4.8. It LOVES rpm. The cam above would have a much more meaty torque curve.
If you're stuck on a factory cam then maybe the earlier z06 cam would actually be better. I think those specs match that of the LS2 cam. |
Yeah I was looking for a pre 2004 LS6 cam, would that COMP cam be good with the stock converter and yellow lifters.
The LS2 cam would work also right? or is that one with the cam sensor in a different spot? |
also would I be able to tune with my predator? or would I need a live tune?
|
Anyone?
|
You'll need a real tune. Handhelds are only good for reading cel codes..

sorry to resurrect is old thread, but i was thinking about putting an ls6 cam in my 4.8 5spd silverado. is this a decent option without going to an aftermarket cam? It is my daily driver, just looking for a little more "umph"
|
Why not an aftermarket cam?
|
Because I have other vehicles that will be lopey. I figured a ls6 cam would be a nice compromise for a DD truck.
