305 TBI to LQ4 SWAP

I putting an LQ4 in my 95 GMC 1500. I would like to bolt the LQ4 up to the existing 4L60E trans. I am aware that the torque converter hole pattern and flex plate spacing are different. Has anyone had success with a similar setup? Will the ECU from the LQ4 controll the 4L60E?

On another post that started recently they put a 5.3 in a 97 Tahoe, and the company part of the post came from used adapters all of which they sell. The tahoe now has 2 computers, but from what I read it saves you months of re-wiring. The tahoes used its computer for all guages, and the 5.3 computer for just the motor.

It looked like an average car guy who can swap a motor can do it in a weekend, and a few after work days.

Everything I've seen you have to buy and its not cheap at all. EFI live and HP Tuners seem to be the most common. Its not like OBD1 where its all freeware and all you have to buy is hardware to burn chips and datalog with.

Here's an update on the project:
The motor is in. I made some adapter plates out of 1/4 steel plate and slotted out the torque converter holes on the LQ4's existing flexplate to accept my 95 4L60E.

Now its time to do some plumbing and wiring. I am searching for some good wiring diagrams. I'm also need to know what kind of signals I am dealing with for the speedometer and tach. The big question: will the LQ4's ECU outputsignal for roadspeed and tach work as they are, and if they don't, is it possible change the output signals with any sort of tuning software?

As far as the fuel system goes, at bare minimum I will have to add a series fuel pump to get my fuel pressure up from the TBI 15 psi. Ideally I would like to get a flex fuel tank from a 99-02 pickup(or whatever... I am not sure what tank I am actually looking for). As I understand the flex fuel tank is plastic and has an alcohol content sensor. The ability to run E85 would come in handy down the road when the turbo goes in.

I am gathering all the bit's to put a 07 LMG into my 95 Tahoe and durring information gathering process I found that my tank is plastic even though the bucket and other fuel internals might not be 100% E85 capable I never plan to run it that way.

I bought a Walbro 255 to put in the tank and will also put a pressure regulator inside the tank sincne the gen 4 motor is returnless
