Default 3" quiet true duals

I recently had a magnaflow dual/dual 3"/3" installed on my Tahoe. I have a catless system with LT headers on my 6.0 with a 232/234 cam and its too damn loud. Its costing me a lot to keep changing this to figure out what I want but I just ordered a Flo-Pro 2500 which is also 3"/3" Dual/Dual. It's supposed to sound like stock. I also picked up a pair of very compact 3" cats. If the muffler shop can squeeze it all in there I expect it to be a pretty good performing and quiet and clean setup. I'll be selling my magnaflow as soon as I get it off.

Interested in results. I'm old enough that the same exhaust setup on my truck is too loud.

I had one of those flo pro OEM replacements on my 05 1500hd. Thing sounded awful and droned in the cab at cruising speed. Like it wasn't loud outside the truck but it had this weird tinny tone the OEM muffler never had. And this was with cats and manifolds. A buddy threw one on his 04 3/4 ton and got the same result.

I have 3" duals with an X pipe and 2 of the bigger XR1 Borla ovals on my 04 and it's too quiet really... be a great daily. No drone at cruise either and thars with catless long tubes.

I woulda thought adding the cats or resonators to the magnaflows would have really helped with the drone.

This thing drones so bad, there's no way the little cats I got are going to fix it.

This is too bad to hear. I already ordered it. It has to be quieter than this magnaflow, though.

Which Magnaflow did you use? Was it a 12599? I was thinking about using that one as well.

Yes. That's the one. It has a very cool sound, but my wife hates it when she's riding. I have a manual transmission and pretty healthy cam so I'm running around in a loud rpm range all the time. I don't think that's what it was designed for.

In for results, I'm looking into building a custom system to keep mine toned down so it's not so obvious. Been talking to a guy I know that can do stainless mandrel system with resonators, cats and mufflers. He just did my buddies and it was reasonable for what he got...
